Dear missionary friends Tim & Gloria Hagquist, included our ministry in their June-July 2010 newsletter. They are with WorldVenture (www.worldventure.com) and HOPE MOUNTAIN (www.hopemountain.com). In 2009 we discussed with them our tribal pastors "Basic Horsemanship Training Program" of which they wanted some of their pastors to attend. Please read their article about it below :)
"On June 14-18, we took three tribal pastors and an intern to attend a 5-day seminar in basic horsemanship in Valencia, Bukidnon where they learned about hoof-care, grooming, feeding practices, basic medical conditions, organic remedies, riding skills, etc. The training was conducted by a Canadian missionary couple, Darrel & Shannon Nelson who serve with Tribal Horse Evangelism. This is a very unique and needed ministry since tribal pastor/farmers rely on horses for their farm work and transportation.
We met Darrel & Shannon at a gathering in the home of an American missionary couple in Davao City last year which resulted in friendship and partnership in ministry. We are amazed to see how God puts His people together to accomplish His work.
Again, Powerful Partnerships–Transformed Lives!"

They also emailed us a wonderful letter. Click here!
On the final day of the horsemanship training we had the privilege to assign 2 horses to their pastors. Today we met with Tim & Gloria and CCM will be assigning another 3 horses for their tribal pastors in the middle of August. They are encouraged by our ministry and look forward to sending more of their pastors for training in the future.
SINGAPORE
Our trip to Singapore was wonderful! We felt like we were back in Vancouver, Canada but much hotter :)
A special thank you to Steve & Holly and Noah Smith for opening their condo for us for the week. We don't know how we would have done it without their generosity! Thank you again :)
Sunday am we had the privilege to worship with Evangel Family Church Singapore at the English service.
Pastor Dale & Chui Lim, Pastor Nicholas and Pastor Mong welcomed us as family. We love the body of Christ! Thank you so much for sponsoring horses for tribal pastors!!!
We'd also like to thank Steven & Sue Wee, Thomas & Margaret Chua, Jason & Arlene and Ena Wee for their outstanding hospitality. We look forward to visiting Singapore in 2011!
7 WEEKS
In just over 7 weeks we will be returning home on furlow. We are excited to see our family and friends!
Currently we are planning our next Horsemanship Training for the middle of August. We're also meeting with a new evangelical group called Tribal Federation Of Pastors and Leaders. They have over 100 tribal pastors in the southern area of Mindanao that want to avail horses. We also met with the missions coordinator of Missionary Alliance and they have over 300 tribal pastors that want horses. This doesn't include AGO, Foursquare, Baptist and other evangelical organizations that also want to avail horses for their tribal pastors!
The need is GREAT!!! We need more horses; We've out-grown our ministry property; We need monthly supporters.
When back in Canada we'd love to come and share at your church, home-group, horse club and of course fellowship one-2-one where we can. Please email us at dnelson@crosscultureministries.com
in His Service :)
